 PETROAN  calls on FG to support the private sector with Stimulus Package

Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) has called on Federal government to support the private sector with Stimulus Package.

According to the National President of Association, Prince (Dr.) Billy S. Gillis-Harry, the Stimulus Package is necessary to forestall job losses and ensure business continuity even after the Corona Virus Pandemic.

Gillis- Harry, who disclosed to Skybirdnews Group, recently in Port Harcourt, stated that as Workers mark this year’s Workers Day, government should be concerned about Business Sustainability in the formal and Informal Sector, adding that  What is paramount at a time like this is for government to Support the Private Sector to ensure retention of jobs.

He explained that the economic Stimulus should be impactful to avoid the laying off of workers and to increase productivity.

“ I want to use this medium to appreciate the Federal government for the palliatives and economic stimulus already put in place, but more need to be done by Government and the CBN,” he said.

He  urged the PPPRA to engage with CBN to determine the applicable foreign exchange rates for the importation of Petroleum Products by oil Marketers.

“We call on our teeming members and all the staff of every Petroleum Products Retail Stations across the country to be law abiding and ensure to obey the various rules put in place by government at all levels and the NCDC in containing the spread of the corona virus,” he stated.

He congratulated all members of Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), the Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress and all Nigeria workers for this year celebration of workers.

“I want to sincerely applaud to all Nigeria workers for their resilience, doggedness and courage in the face of the current global challenge of COVID-19 Pandemic,” he said.
