MINISTER CHARGES YOUTHS TO BE PATRIOTIC

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has appealed to Nigerian youths to be more patriotic as the destiny of the nation lies in their hands.

Dr. Onu said this at the Musical Festival and Award night of Caleb Group of schools at the weekend in Lagos.

Dr. Onu further said there is need to accord prority to rewarding system in schools so as to spur healthy competition and excellent performance among students.

He said Nigeria needed the very best hands among the youths to achieve transformation from a resource-based to a knowledge and innovation driven economy. He added that products of Caleb group of schools are well placed to assist Nigeria in this transformation.

Dr. Onu, appealed to well-placed Nigerians to replicate the success story of the founder of Caleb group of schools by establishing educational institutions which would help the nation achieve economic transformation.

Earlier, former Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon rtd. described Caleb group of schools as having world class facilities and praised the sustained and continued efforts of the school’s management in raising the bar of education in the country.
